Dina Yanni is a researcher and video artist whose work is heavily influenced by celluloid film,
digital technology and critical theory. Dina creates video work that utilizes appropriated
footage, experimental editing and data corruption to reveal, reevaluate and reframe power
structures discovered in the original materials. She holds a PhD in Political Science and an
MA in Film Production. Dina’s work has been exhibited internationally, at venues like
Antimatter [media art] in Canada or the Jornadas de Reapropiación in Mexico.
Her film COSMIC POPSICLE re-purposes the Hebrew/German "Lemon Popsicle"-film series and transcends its source material to become a glitchy collage of cyborg identities and fifties
